Juliet Angus is starting over after losing her beloved Birkin collection.

The American star of Bravo’s Ladies of London, 48, opened up about what it means to buy her first Hermès Birkin bag since her "entire handbag collection" was lost in a burglary at her home in London. The reality star reflected on what happened to her as she showed off a new Birkin worth over $37,000 and discussed how emotional it was for her to restart her collection in an Instagram Reel.

"When you’ve had your entire handbag collection, 25 years of collecting stolen by horrible humans, low-life criminals, and have to slowly start all over again. These bags are expensive and a lot of work goes into being able to afford just one," she began.

"The worst part of it is, the sleepless nights, anger at the violation of people in your home, taking from you and knowing exactly who did it," she continued, explaining her home was allegedly watched ahead of the crime.

"Be careful who you let into your home and you give valuable visuals to. We have made safety changes and the @metpolice_uk still has this under a greater investigation," she concluded.

The Metropolitan Police have yet to return PEOPLE's request for comment.

The comments of the post became filled with debates as people shared their different opinions on the alleged burglary and Angus' attachment to the purses. Angus responded to one commenter, who claimed to be a lawyer, advising her against continuing to show off her expensive purchases.

"I’m guilty as much as the criminals? Wow, you are a bad lawyer," she replied, later adding, "Some of the most private people have been burglarised because they live in a beautiful home - does that legitimize criminal behavior? I have some friends firsthand - the most private people, not even on Instagram. What you say is absolutely ridiculous."

Many commenters felt the concern over her collection was out of touch, with one writing, "I couldn’t imagine having this be something included in my list of worries….work a full-time job as a single mother with no outside help and one of my biggest worries is getting sick enough to cause me to have to miss a day of work/pay and then not be able to pay my bills or feed my child... but I guess replacing my Hermes purse collection might be right up there on the list too."

"Theft of any kind is a violation and awful. But showing how you can easily start replacing Thousands of dollars worth of handbags is tasteless coming from someone with good taste," another commenter wrote. "Come on!!! Aren’t you showing 'Look, burglars, I’ve got more now for stealing!!' 🫤🤦🏻‍♀️."
