IndieWire proudly announces that Deputy Managing Editor Ryan Lattanzio will join Editor-at-Large Anne Thompson as co-host of our long-running, popular weekly podcast series, “Screen Talk.” Launched in 2014, “Screen Talk” is a weekly dive behind the scenes of the latest industry news while debating and discussing new film and television releases. Thompson previously co-hosted “Screen Talk” with Eric Kohn, who joined filmmaker Harmony Korine’s multidisciplinary design collective EDGLRD earlier this fall.

“It’s been a lot of fun to see Ryan grow his career and his voice at IndieWire,” said IndieWire Editor-in-Chief Dana Harris-Bridson. “I’m looking forward to hearing what he brings to ‘Screen Talk’ and his longtime partnership with Anne.”

“I’m thrilled to take the reins of co-hosting ‘Screen Talk’ alongside Anne, my friend and mentor of many years,” Lattanzio said. “Eric shaped such a great legacy for the podcast with his sharp week-by-week analyses and insights. While there’s much to live up to, Anne and I have worked together since 2012 and have a great chemistry and understanding of each other, even when we lovably disagree. I’m excited to carry the ‘Screen Talk’ torch next to her.”

“The rapport I shared with Eric evolved over many years,” said Anne Thompson. “While Ryan and I know each other well, I am excited to see how the podcast will change and grow with new energy and vitality.”

Ryan has been at IndieWire since 2019, starting off as Weekend Editor before becoming News Editor, and then Deputy Managing Editor, now supervising IndieWire’s news team and contributing film and TV features and reviews of his own. Before PMC acquired IndieWire in 2016, Ryan worked with Anne, writing and editing for her Thompson on Hollywood blog under the IndieWire banner, from 2013 through 2015. Prior to returning to IndieWire, Ryan served as an editor in the communications department at the American Film Institute.

Continuing the “Screen Talk” tradition, each week Anne and Ryan will debate the indie film world and beyond — from film festivals to new releases and the future of the business. Ryan joined the podcast in September after guest-starring throughout the years. He and Anne will host a live presentation of “Screen Talk” at the New York Film Festival on October 11 at Lincoln Center in New York.

“Screen Talk” regularly welcomes industry luminaries onto the podcast to discuss the latest trends and challenges in the industry; guests have included Tom Rothman, Keri Putnam, Tabitha Jackson, Ted Sarandos, John Sloss, Arianna Bocco, Paul Schrader, Charles King, Thierry Fremaux, and Jason Blum. To date, “Screen Talk” has aired 452 episodes since launching in 2014.
