Conversations about a prospective sequel to Indian had circulated for years, following which Indian 2 officially went into development in late 2017. In 2023, reports started circulating that the sequel would have two parts, and the second part would have the title Indian 3. In March 2024, Haasan confirmed the third film, revealing the productions for Indian 2 and 3 happened concurrently. If you are wondering when Indian 3 is coming out, this is what we have learned.

Is there an Indian 3 release date?
Indian 3 could arrive by January 2025.
During the IPL 2024 match between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Chennai Super Kings on May 18, 2024, Kamal Haasan and director Shankar appeared in the Tamil commentary box to deliver some news about Indian 2 and Indian 3. They revealed that Indian 2 is premiering on July 12, 2024, and Indian 3 will come out six months after the second part.
This means that the threequel can be expected to be released sometime in January 2025. Meanwhile, there are various dates circulating around, with IndiaGlitz claiming that the movie can come out on Pongal 2025, which will be celebrated between January 14 and January 17. However, as of this writing, no official release date for Indian 3 seems to have been announced.

Kamal Haasan is expected to play the role of Senapathy in Indian 3 as well.
