Building upon a burst of audience interest following the recent release of the film’s first trailer, India’s Yash Raj Films has set up a simultaneous global theatrical release for Tiger 3, the much-anticipated spy-action thriller starring Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif and Emraan Hashmi.

The film was previously set to open in India on Sunday, Nov. 12, the first day of the Diwali holiday.

Responding to perceived demand, Yash Raj Films has arranged theatrical outings for the film in select theaters in North America, U.K., Europe, Africa and the Middle East. The film will open simultaneously across all of these territories at 9 p.m. Indian Standard Time (which converts to 8:30 a.m. in Los Angeles and 3:30 p.m. in the U.K.), creating an event movie moment for film fans of the Indian diaspora.

The film will open one day later in Asia-Pacific territories on Nov. 12, day and date with India. Yash Raj Films is distributing the film directly in all territories via its local offices.

Directed by Maneesh Sharma (Band Baaja Baaraat), the film is the latest installment in producer Aditya Chopra’s so-called “spy universe” series. The loose franchise kicked off in 2012 with the first Tiger film, Ek Tha Tiger, starring Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif. It continued with Tiger Zinda Hai (2017) and continued with War (2019), starring Tiger Shroff and Hrithik Roshan. The fourth film, Pathaan, starring Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone, was released in January and is one of India’s biggest films of 2023. Collectively, the four films have earned well over $300 million.

Directed by Maneesh Sharma, Tiger 3 finds Salman Khan’s character, the eponymous Tiger, after he’s been framed and labeled India’s enemy number one, forcing him to hunt down his enemies with a vengeance — to clear his name for his country and his family.
