'Independence Day' Actress Joey King Reveals Sister Was Hit by a Semi-Truck: 'Please Keep Her in Your Thoughts and Prayers'
Independence Day: Resurgence actress Joey King revealed that her older sister, Kelli, is "on the road to recovery" following a terrifying accident.
Joey took to Instagram on Wednesday to share that Kelli was hit by a semi-truck while riding her bike to work.
"My sister Kelli was in a terrible accident where she was hit by an 18 wheeler semi truck while bicycling to work yesterday morning," wrote the 17-year-old actress. "She's in great hands and is on the road to recovery. I'm just unbelievably grateful that she's alive. Please keep her in your thoughts."

The teen posted the heartfelt note alongside a sweet caption asking fans for prayers. "Thank you for reading. My sister @kelliisking is one of the toughest people I know," she wrote. "Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers."
Prior to revealing the accident, Joey shared a sister selfie of her and Kelli on Tuesday with the caption, "Wishing my Biggish Bear a health recovery. Hold the ones you love tight. I love you @kelliisking so grateful you are here."

Joey's other sister, Hunter King, also shared an emotional message dedicated to Kelli on Instagram.
"My homie since day one," Hunter captioned a throwback photo of her and Kelli as kids. "Kelli I'm so thankful that you're okay. God was lookin out for you yesterday. I love you so much and you bet your a** I'm gonna call you every day to bug you and remind you how much you're loved."
The 23-year-old Young & the Restless star ended the post with a message mimicking Joey's. "Gotta hold the loved ones tight and be thankful for each day," Hunter wrote with the a heart emoji. "Not even a semi truck can stop you."
