Incubus have released a re-recorded version of their 2001 album, Morning View. Stream it below.
In a recent interview with Consequence, Incubus vocalist Brandon Boyd spoke about maintaining the “burgeoning legacy” of the original album while revisiting it for Morning View XXIII. “A lot of people love this album the way it is — it’s not like it’s broken,” he said.
However, the band wanted to capture how the songs have “morphed and changed” over the past few decades. “They’ve evolved out into totally different arrangements and then made their way back to the original arrangement — we’ve been playing them that long at this point,” he explained. “On the re-recording, you can tell it’s the same song, but there are different embellishments.”
Starting in late August, Incubus will perform Morning View in full on a US arena tour with special guest Coheed and Cambria (get tickets here). This past weekend, the group played BeachLife Festival in California. Read our recap of the event.
