Iman Vellani has some marvelous ideas for the future of the Avengers franchise.

In a recent interview with Yahoo Entertainment, the Ms. Marvel actress revealed her vision for a potential Young Avengers movie, which was lightly teased at the end of The Marvels. Vellani sees her character Kamala Khan as a potential leader for the team: "In my head, she's going to be Captain America mixed with Nick Fury," Vellani said. "She'll know what's on the roster for the day, but is also a natural born leader. It would be such a natural progression for her character to lead a team."

Hailee Steinfeld’s Kate Bishop from Hawkeye is probably the only character who fans should consider a lock for a potential Young Avengers project, as she appeared at the end of The Marvels in a recruiting scene where Kamala echoes Samuel L. Jackson’s cameo from the original Iron Man. Kamala also mentions that Ant-Man has a daughter in the scene, though it’s unclear whether her reference to Cassie Lang (played most recently by Kathryn Newton in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania) is a genuine indication of her inclusion in a future movie or just a throwaway piece of dialogue.

Vellani, who is a massive fan of Marvel comics and movies, discussed other potential Young Avengers candidates in the interview. "Ironheart would be fun," she said in reference to Dominique Thorne’s character Riri Williams from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.  "I also want to say Kid Loki, because he's the only guy I could think of," Vellani said, referring to a variant of Tom Hiddleston’s god of mischief played by Jack Veal on the Loki TV series. "Well, him and Patriot, I guess,” she said, shouting out Elijah Richardson’s character Eli Bradley from The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

“And maybe Billy and Tommy, although they aren't as fleshed out in the MCU yet,” Vellani said of Wanda Maximoff and Vision’s imaginary kids from WandaVision, played by Julian Hilliard and Jett Klyne. “I'm excited to see if any of those storylines go anywhere."

Other young heroes that Vellani didn’t mention who could make their way to a Young Avengers project include America Chavez, who debuted in last year’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness played by Xochitl Gomez; Florence Pugh’s superspy Yelena, who first appeared in Black Widow and later in Hawkeye; Hulk’s son Skaar, who briefly appeared at the end of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law; and, of course, Tom Holland’s Spider-Man.

The Marvels is now playing in theaters.
