The wife of Imagine Dragons frontman Dan Reynolds is seeking spousal support but agreeing to joint custody of their kids.

The Blast broke the news that his wife, Aja Volkman, filed for divorce after more than a decade of marriage earlier this month.

In new court documents obtained by The Blast, Aja Volkman claims that the former couple separated almost a year ago in August 2022. She is requesting that the singer pay her attorney's fees but feels that they need more time to determine their separate and community property before they proceed with the divorce.

However, she is agreeing to joint legal and physical custody of their young children. The former couple shares four children: daughter Arrow, 10, twin daughters Gia and Coco, 5, and son Valentine, 2.

The Former Couple Filed For Divorce One Month After Separating

The former couple announced their split a month after they separated in September 2022. “I am saddened to say that after many beautiful years together Aja and I have separated,” the singer tweeted at the time, adding, “Being great parents to our children is our number one priority. Thank you for always supporting us with love and care for all these years.”

That same month, Volkman filed for dissolution of marriage and asked a Los Angeles judge to officially and legally terminate their relationship.

This Isn't The First Time The Pair Has Split up

The former couple has been making headlines for their rollercoaster relationship ever since they split in 2018. They eventually reconciled and even wrote a song together called "Bad Liar" after repairing their relationship.

Although Dan Reynolds is famously the lead singer of Imagine Dragons, Volkman is also a musician and lead singer of the indie-pop band Nico Vega. The former couple met while they were both students attending Brigham Young University in Utah. They started dating and got married soon after in a private ceremony in Las Vegas in 2011.

At the time of their first split in 2018, the singer wrote, “After 7 beautiful years together, Aja and I’s marriage has come to an end, our children continue to be the most important thing in our lives, & we will continue to co-parent them with all our love.”

Volkman has previously praised Reynolds as a parent and a father in a heartfelt Instagram post. “I’m proud of you @danreynolds. I’m proud of your humility and ability to still show up as the basketball-coaching baby-loving Dad that you are, I know that it’s been a crazy road. It’s killed us both in so many moments," she wrote at the time. "Last year we killed each other and now we are rebuilding.”

In December 2022, Dan Reynolds and “Friday Night Lights” actress Minka Kelly were spotted packing on the PDA during a lunch date (via Page Six). The couple visited Millie’s Café in Los Angeles and sat at a table outside the restaurant.

The actress was photographed putting her hands on his buttocks as she leaned in for a kiss. The couple made headlines a month before while spotted on yet another date and going out for a walk together. During the walk, Reynolds was holding Kelly’s hand close to his chest.

Minka Kelly was previously linked to former “The Daily Show” comedian Trevor Noah, although their two-year relationship came to an end last May. At the time, a source told PEOPLE that Kelly is “very happy” with the decision to end the relationship, adding, “She’d rather be single than waste her time with the wrong guy.”
