I'm A Celebrity has bid farewell to its fifth campmate, with Babatúndé Aléshé being voted out of the ITV jungle series.

The stand-up comedian failed to get the votes needed to remain in camp and was given his marching orders after going up against fellow funnyman Seann Walsh in the bottom two.

On leaving the jungle after 19 days, Aléshé declared everyone his "brothers for life" before he said goodbye to the group.

Once in the studio, he immediately covered himself in the celebratory prosecco after accidentally knocking the glass out of his hand, causing Ant and Dec to burst out laughing.

Aléshé, 34, admitted he didn't realise how much of an endurance trial lay ahead of him.

"Living in it is a whole different experience," he said. "Like before, when I used to watch this show, I used to always think to myself 'Ah, man, these guys are just playing, man. It's all good in there', and then spending two and a bit weeks in there - it's hardcore.

While most who enter the show say they have conquered their fears, the stand-up star admitted that he had become even more terrified of toads after a bushtucker trial saw him with a box full of them trapped around his head.

"I don't like the way they look. They look like they were birthed in the pit of hell," he said. "They are demons."

But despite his fears, and skipping out on his first challenge before even entering the camp over a fear of heights, Declan Donnelly told him his personality won out in the public's eye.

"You were brilliant energy in camp and your energy was contagious," Donnelly told him. "You're always great as well at encouraging and bigging up the other campmates."

Before leaving, Aléshé declared he wanted Owen Warner to win the series.

"He's brave. He's hungry, he needs it!" Aléshé joked of the Hollyoaks star. "But he's a brave soul and he is just a good, good friend.

"He's a good lad. I can say so much about him. I can't really put it into words. But he's the closest friend."

After Aléshé finished his final chat with hosts Ant and Dec, he officially returned to reality by crossing the iconic wire bridge, where his loved ones were waiting to greet him.

Six stars in camp remain, with the finale edging ever close as the winner is announced on Sunday evening.

So far on this year's show, Charlene White, Scarlette Douglas, Sue Cleaver and Boy George have exited the camp.

Olivia Attwood originally appeared in the line-up, but had to leave on medical grounds after just 24 hours.

I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here continues weeknights at 9pm on ITV.
