Illinois State Fair Grandstand tickets go on sale Friday. Here's what to know

Tickets for announced Grandstand shows at the Illinois State Fair go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday.

For now, tickets are only available through www.Ticketmaster.com. The state fair's box office will open in June.

Sammy Hagar & The Circle, Brooks & Dunn, Demi Lovato and Disturbed are among the headliners.

On Thursday, State Fair officials announced that Ides of March featuring Jim Peterik would be performing a free show at the Grandstand on Aug. 15.

The 71-year-old Peterik, a native of Berwyn, Illinois, is the founder of the rock group Survivor. He co-wrote Survivor's biggest hit, "Eye of the Tiger," and co-wrote "Hold on Loosely" by 38 Special and "Heavy Metal" by Sammy Hagar.

Three Grandstand slots still remain open: opening night, Aug. 11; Tuesday, Aug. 16 and Friday, Aug. 19.

The state fair is set for Aug. 11-21. Ticket prices do not include admission to the fair.

All shows are at 8 p.m.
