IL State Fair announces Arena lineup, dates for 2024
SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WCIA) — Tickets are now on sale for the Illinois State Fair’s 2024 events at the Multi-Purpose Arena.
This year’s Arena lineup boasts four events from Aug. 8 to 17, with one event lasting three days. Fair officials said the events are State Fair traditions and will take place in a newly-renovated arena.
“The Arena is freshly remodeled with numerous enhancements following a $8.6 million investment, and we are excited to fill this outdoor space with a solid lineup of entertainment during the Illinois State Fair,” said Jerry Costello, Director of the Illinois Department of Agriculture.

This year’s schedule mirrors that of last year’s — the Monsters of Destruction monster truck show on Thursday, Aug. 8, the Wooten Rodeo on Saturday, Aug. 10, truck and tractor pulls from the Illinois Tractor Pulling Association between Aug. 12 and 14 and a demolition derby on Saturday, Aug. 17.
“The events featured in The Arena represent traditions for the Illinois State Fair as well as traditions for families throughout the state, my own included,” said Rebecca Clark, Illinois State Fair Manager. “We encourage fairgoers to purchase their tickets in advance to beat the lines at the gate and ensure they won’t miss any of the action inside The Arena! We look forward to packing the stands for these four great events.”
Tickets for all events are on sale now. As a bonus, anyone who pays to park on the State Fairgrounds on Thursday, Aug. 8 will be able to redeem their parking pass for free one return trip to the fair either Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday.
