IHOP celebrates National Pancake Day with a free short stack; $1 donation required in NJ

International House of Pancakes is offering free pancakes today to mark National Pancake Day. And this year you can even help out while eating a short stack.

IHOP is offering free pancakes today until 7 p.m. to celebrate its annual holiday. And this year, customers can not only get the free flapjacks, they can also donate to IHOP's campaign to help those struggling with food insecurity.

Pancake Day, or Shrove Tuesday, is the feast day before Ash Wednesday, which is the start of Lent.

If you're in New Jersey or New York, the promotion costs $1, which goes to the campaign.

There's a limit of one short stack per guest.
