The Idol is a drama series that focuses on the complex relationship between a female pop-culture idol Jocelyn, and a sleazy nightclub owner and self-help guru, Tedros.

The Idol Season 2 does not have a release date as it will not be happening. The drama series was canceled by HBO after one season.
As to why The Idol was canceled, it was because it received largely negative reviews from critics, who heavily criticized the story, direction, and sexual content depicted on the show. At the time of writing, The Idol holds a rotten critic score of 19% and a rotten 41% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes.
The Idol was co-created by Sam Levinson, The Weeknd, and Reza Fahim. It stars Lily-Rose Depp, The Weeknd, Suzanna Son, Troye Sivan, Jane Adams, Ramsey, Mitch Modes, Rachel Sennott, and Hari Nef.

The Idol Season 2 isn’t confirmed to be released on HBO or HBO Max as the series has been canceled after one season.
