'Frozen' stars Idina Menzel and Kristen Bell say their kids don't like them singing: 'They're just over us'

The children of Frozen stars Idina Menzel and Kristen Bell aren't exactly enraptured by their mothers playing beloved Disney heroines Elsa and Anna.

"My kids love the movie, but they don't really care that I'm involved," Bell, who has 4- and 6-year-old daughters with husband Dax Shepard, told Yahoo Entertainment while promoting the feverishly anticipated, secretive new sequel Frozen 2 (watch above). "I keep trying to get brownie points like, 'Well, I know secrets about it!' And they just don't [react].

"I told them the whole plot line of Frozen 2, truthfully, about two years ago. And they were like, 'Oh, cool.' Because they don't really get it until they see it. But I was trying to be the cool mom."

Menzel's young son isn't just ambivalent to his mother's status as Disney superstar, he might be downright dismissive.

"Our kids don't like us singing," explained Menzel (who has a 10-year-old son with ex-husband Taye Diggs), which Bell agreed with. "Mine tells me to shut up. Not in a really rude way, but in a sort of rude way."

Added Bell: "They're just over us."

Menzel and Bell's brood may be over them singing, but the moviegoing public is certainly not. Following Frozen's $1.2 billion box-office haul, the largest ever for an animated feature, in 2013, Frozen 2 is already eyeing a massive $100 million-plus opening when it hits theaters this weekend.
