Ice Spice Fires Back Amid Criticism Over Her Oscars After-Party Look

Ice Spice was not here for the controversy that ensued over her look to the 2024 Vanity Fair Oscars Party.
The “In Ha Mood” rapper turned heads at the annual affair on Sunday night (Mar. 10) wearing a black sheer gown with lace details and visible black undergarments, while her sleek-straightened signature orange hair draped her back.
Not everyone on Twitter seemed to be feeling the look as one tweeted, “I wish her stylist would try harder…same lace bodysuit back to back.”
The 24-year-old replied, “lets see u b***hes in custom dolce.” Another quipped, “y’all think cuz it’s expensive or custom it’s fashion or nice for certain events… read the room you’re not at a club hosting.” Someone else added, “This wasn’t even a drag, it was a valid critique mamas.”
Ice Spice later apologized to the initial tweet, writing, “srry 4 bein a meanie i was only tryna hurt ur feelings bc u hurt mine :’P.”
For those also attacking her by saying that she only rocks two hairstyles, the Bronx native reacted by liking a tweet that read, “Y’all are so annoying. Ariana [Grande] wore a half up n half down hairstyle for damnear 5yrs straight. what’s the issue?”
When speaking with V Magazine during Fashion Week in September 2023, she revealed that she wants to be part of the fashion world. “I’m just gaining a little bit of experience, you know? Seeing styles and what I like to wear,” she explained.
On the music front, Ice Spice confirmed last week that she finished recording her debut album, Y2K.
“I think this is some of my best work,” she teased to Billboard earlier this month. Adding, “it’s not going to be too long — it’s going to be sweet and to the point.”
