Ice Spice’s meteoric rise could be due to hit another peak in 2024. The 24-year-old revealed that her debut album, Y2K, is coming out this year.

The Bronx rapper appeared on The Today Show on Tuesday (Jan. 30) and was asked what’s coming next in her career. “Yes, there’s gonna be an album,” she said enthusiastically. “I’m so excited.” She announced the title, Y2K, which signifies her birthday, Jan. 1, 2000. It is also popularly known as the day that the world was supposed to be reset to the year 1900 due to computers and energy grids melting via a glitch in their internal systems.

While that didn’t happen, the “Deli” artist was born and graced music with her catchy bars just 22 years later. As for her album, she said that it was “almost finished.” She also revealed that a “crazy collaboration” had just been secured, but did not share specific details about who it was with. Check out the announcement below.

Ice Spice first teased the album and title back in November 2023. She shared a photo of her new lower back tattoo on Instagram and captioned the photo “Y2K! ?/?/24.”

She kicked off her 2024 campaign this past Friday (Jan. 26) with her new single “Think U The Sh*t (Fart),” which had been teased on social media for a few weeks prior. The four-time Grammy nominee accompanied the single with a video shot in Miami where she does her signature twerk and parties with her friends at sea.

2023 was a major year for the rising star. She shared her debut EP Like..? in January 2023, collaborated with Nicki Minaj twice, appeared on Taylor Swift’s “Karma” remix, and partnered with Dunkin Donuts on the limited edition Munchkins drink. Check out the “Think U The Sh*t (Fart)” video below.
