Ice Spice’s 2022 and 2023 hits catapulted her to stardom that went beyond just music. The Bronx artist is now facing a lawsuit over one of those records, “In Ha Mood.”

New York City rapper D. Chamberz claims that the Like..? artist copied his record and is suing her for copyright infringement, TMZ reports. Chamberz released “In That Mood” in January 2022 and went on to perform it at local NYC venues in addition to receiving plays on the radio. He believes that RIOTUSA, Spice’s go-to producer, heard the record and the duo copied its “beat, lyrics, hook, rhythmic structure, metrical placement, and narrative context” on the Christmas 2022 release, “In Ha Mood.”

Chamberz claims that he has evidence from social media to support his claims and is seeking half of the revenue and publishing, plus damages, from the RIAA Gold-certified track. Ice Spice and her team have not commented on the lawsuit yet. Listen to “In Ha Mood” and “In That Mood” below.

Ice Spice had a major 2023. She released her debut EP Like..? in January, which included her breakthrough hit “Munch (Feelin’ U),” “Bikini Bottom,” “Princess Diana,” and “Gangsta Boo” featuring Lil TJay.

Months later, Nicki Minaj joined her on the “Princess Diana” remix before the two linked up again on “Barbie World.” Spice also secured placements on major records, such as Pinkpantheress’ “Boy’s A Liar Pt. 2” and Taylor Swift’s “Karma.” In July, she shared a deluxe version of Like..? which added her popular single “Deli” and viral On The Radar freestyle.

One of the biggest looks the four-time Grammy nominee secured was a partnership with Dunkin Donuts. The limited edition MUNCHKINS® Drink was a significant moment for her and the brand as it marked the first time the popular donut holes were blended into coffee. She appeared alongside Ben Affleck in the promotional trailer for the drink, which you can view below.
