The former 'Beverly Hills, 90210' star said Monday that the incident in Los Angeles left him "deeply concerned"

Ian Ziering has addressed the alleged scuffle he was involved in with multiple bikers in Los Angeles on New Year's Eve.

Breaking his silence on the incident Monday, Ziering, 59, said in a video posted to Instagram that he was grateful that he and his daughter Mia, 12, were unhurt in the alleged altercation.

Set to Coldplay’s song “A Sky Full of Stars,” Ziering shared a statement over a smiling photo of himself and captioned the post with the same message.

”Yesterday, I experienced an alarming incident involving a group of individuals on mini bikes," his post began. "While stuck in traffic, my car was approached aggressively by one of these riders leading to an unsettling confrontation. In an attempt to assess any damage I exited my car. This action, unfortunately, escalated into a physical altercation, which I navigated to protect myself.”

The former Beverly Hills, 90210 star went on to say that he was “relieved to report that my daughter and I are both completely unscathed,” but added that the incident had left him “deeply concerned about the growing boldness of such groups who disrupt public safety and peace.”

“This situation highlights a larger issue of hooliganism on our streets and the need for effective law enforcement responses to such behavior,” he continued. “As a citizen and a parent, I find it unacceptable that groups can freely engage in this kind of behavior, causing fear and chaos, while the response from authorities seems insufficient.”

Ziering added that he wanted to "ensure that our streets are safe for everyone."

"I urge city officials and law enforcement to take decisive action against such lawlessness and provide the necessary resources to prevent future occurrences," he continued.

The actor concluded the post by saying, “I am thankful for the support of my family, friends, and fans during this time. It’s in challenging moments like these that the strength and unity of our community are most vital. Happy new year.”

The incident was first reported by TMZ. In a video obtained by the publication, Ziering’s vehicle appeared to be surrounded by a group of people riding mini-bikes on Hollywood Blvd. Ziering then got out of his car and appeared to get into a physical altercation with one of the bikers.

Soon after Ziering and the individual started fighting, other bikers in the group circled back and surrounded the star, with one appearing to drive his bike into Ziering. The group then all started attacking the Sharknado actor, who appeared to run away from the group as he tried to cross the busy road.

According to the TMZ clip, Ziering was chased by the group and apparently grabbed by the shirt, pushed into another vehicle and hit more than once.
