‘This Week in Game Shows’: Husband of Celebrated ‘Jeopardy!’ Champ Loses on His First Day
Jeopardy! contestant Doug Baker is married to Stephanie Jass, one of the most celebrated female contestants in Jeopardy! history. And just in case he wasn’t already feeling the pressure of trying to live up to his wife’s success, host Alex Trebek was there to drive the point home.
“There is, perhaps, more pressure on this man, Doug Baker, as a contestant on Jeopardy!” Trebek said. “Because he is married to a seven-time Jeopardy! champion.”
Unfortunately, Baker finished in third place and won’t be returning to the show.
Elsewhere in the world of game shows, a married couple on The Wall dramatically became millionaires in a matter of seconds. Two young men on Family Feud revealed that they haven’t taken the tags off of their fancy new dress clothes, which probably changed after they won over $20,000. And on The Price Is Right, one contestant said “Hi” to his girlfriend and quit his job all with one spin of the wheel!
