Hurricane Ian: Lee County death toll rises to 58, sheriff says
Lee County Sheriff Carmine Marceno held a press conference on Friday afternoon to relay post-Hurricane Ian information to the public.
Marceno confirmed the total number of deaths is 58 countywide.
Although, Florida District Medical Examiners reported Thursday there were 108 deaths total attributed to Hurricane Ian, with Ian responsible for 54 deaths in Lee County.

Carmine said since Sept. 27, LCSO responded to 4,866 well-being checks.
As of Friday, all those checks were completed and closed out, said Marceno.
LCSO also has 2 missing person reports in connection to the hurricane: Gary Luke of North Fort Myers and James Hurst of Fort Myers Beach.
