Hurricane Dorian Now Expected To Hit Florida As Major Category 4 Storm

The latest update from the National Hurricane Center on the path and strength of Hurricane Dorian is not good news for the residents of Florida's east coast.

The storm is now expected to make landfall in the Sunshine State as a category 4 hurricane, with 130 mph winds.

The storm is currently north of Puerto Rico and is expected to make a northwest turn on Friday before sliding just north of the Bahamas and bearing down on Florida.

It's exact point of landfall will likely change in the next 48 hours, but it will likely hit Florida early Monday. It's currently projected to make landfall around Vero Beach.

It's landfall location could still shift as far south as Miami and as far north as Jacksonville. Regardless of its exact landfall point, Dorian's effects will be felt across the Bahamas and pretty much all of Florida. A state of emergency has already been declared by Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.
