Huntington man turns himself in after getting caught stealing from Marshall locker room
I don’t know anything about being a burglar, but I am certain that this guy is very bad at it.
Mark Fetty, 25, of Huntington, West Virginia, turned himself in to police on Thursday after being caught on security cameras stealing from Marshall’s athletics building early Sunday morning, hours after the Thundering Herd knocked off Miami (Ohio) in the home opener.
According to WSAZ in Huntington, Fetty is facing grand larceny and entering without breaking charges for entering the Sheway Athletic building Sept. 3 and taking a helmet along with “clothing, backpacks, shoes, hats and other items.” The criminal complaint says Fetty was able to enter through an unlocked door and stole property valued in excess of $1,500 from the team locker room and various offices in the building.
Police told WSAZ Fetty called local authorities to turn himself in:
Fetty can be seen on surveillance entering locker rooms and offices stealing items. The reported value of the stolen property is more than $1,500. Fetty then left the building less than hour later through the lower field level center glass doors.
Fetty was arraigned at the Cabell County Courthouse Thursday afternoon. MUPD tells WSAZ Fetty called police and turned himself Thursday.
As you can see in this news report, the surveillance footage shows just how blatant the crime was. At numerous points, you can clearly see Fetty’s face.
This one shouldn’t take too long to prosecute, you would think.
