After the Hunt: Julia Roberts to Star In Luca Guadagnino Thriller

It’s been revealed that Julia Roberts will star in the upcoming Luca Guadagnino-helmed thriller from Amazon MGM, After the Hunt.

Deadline has reported that Roberts will lead the film, which was written by Nora Garrett and will be directed by Guadagnino. The outlet notes that several agents have called the screenplay “one of the better scripts” to come around after the end of last year’s entertainment industry strikes.

The film is described as an “intense dramatic thriller” that revolves around a college professor who must deal with a dark secret of hers after one of her colleagues is hit with an accusation from a star student.

After the Hunt will be produced by Brian Grazer and Allan Mandelbaum for Imagine Entertainment and by Guadagnino through Frenesy. It will be executive produced by Imagine Entertainment’s Karen Lunder and Garrett.

Guadagnino’s latest film is Challengers, which has a screenplay written by Justin Kuritzkes.  The film will be led by Zendaya as Tashi Duncan, Mike Faist (West Side Story) as Art Donaldson, and Josh O’Connor (The Crown) as Patrick Zweig. It is executive produced by Bernard Bellew, with Guadagnino and Amy Pascal serving as producers. It will also feature music by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross. It is set to release in theaters on April 26, 2024.
