Hugh Jackman Sweetly FaceTimed Wife Deborra-Lee Furness During Live with Kelly and Ryan

Hugh Jackman is never too far away from his wife Deborra-Lee Furness.

The 50-year-old actor FaceTimed Furness while walking out to greet Kelly Ripa and Ryan Seacrest during an interview on Live with Kelly and Ryan on Monday.

Walking with his phone in hand, Jackman multitasked between high-fiving fans and making sure Furness, 63, was in on the action.

As he approached Ripa, 48, she asked him, “Is that Deb? Wait is that Deb? Oh my gosh.”

Turning toward the audience, Jackman said, “So Deb just rang me while I was backstage and said, ‘Say hi to Kelly for me,’ and I said, ‘You say hi to Kelly.'”

Grabbing the phone, Ripa told Furness, “Hi, I miss you! You look great!”

Audible to the audience, Furness said, “[I have] no makeup.”

“You look gorgeous without makeup. Some people don’t need it,” Ripa assured her.

Jackman explained, “I said Deb, what do you think of Ryan, no stubble or clean-shaven? And she said, say it, Deb…”

As Seacrest, 44, watched, Furness replied, “I’m going with the stubble, I like my guys with stubble!”

Jackman married Furness in 1996 and opened up about their romance in a December 2017 interview with PEOPLE.

“One of the great pieces of fortune in my career, it started late, but that Deb and I were already set together, a team, madly in love, like literally before it all happened,” Jackman said. “We can kind of see all the ups and downs for what they are. Our priority is our family, and we’re there for each other no matter what.”

Calling Furness his “rock,” Jackman said he always makes his wife a priority — no matter what the occasion may be.

“Even at the Oscars, I walk out, I put my hand on my heart and I always look to Deb in the audience,” he said. “Straight afterwards, I will not see anybody in my dressing room until Deb’s been in. Because that is my foundation, that is the rock, that is the foundation of our family, and therefore my life.”
