Hugh Jackman is giving Robin Hood the “Logan” treatment.
Jackman, who is best known for playing Wolverine in the “X-Men” film series, has signed on to star in “The Death of Robin Hood” alongside Jodie Comer (“Killing Eve”) and rising writer-director Michael Sarnoski (“Pig,” “A Quiet Place: Day One”), Deadline reports.

The film is described as “a darker reimagining of the classic Robin Hood tale. Set in its time, the film will see the title character grappling with his past after a life of crime and murder, a battle-worn loner who finds himself gravely injured and in the hands of a mysterious woman who offers him a chance at salvation.”
“It has been an incredible opportunity to reinvent and freshly innovate the story we all know of Robin Hood,” Sarnoski said in a statement to Deadline. “Securing the perfect cast to transform the script to screen was essential. I could not be more thrilled and trusting in Hugh and Jodie to bring this story to life in a powerful and meaningful way.”
It sounds pretty similar to “Logan,” the 2017 film that was originally meant to be Jackman’s send-off as Wolverine, in which he grapples with his violent past and tries to find salvation before dying.
“The Death of Robin Hood” package is on sale at Cannes. Producers include Aaron Ryder, Andrew Swett, and Alexander Black. Production is slated to begin in February 2025.
Jackman will next be seen reprising his signature role in the upcoming “Deadpool & Wolverine.” He is an Emmy, Grammy, and two-time Tony winner and an Academy Award nominee for “Les Miserables.”
Comer is an Emmy winner for “Killing Eve” and a Tony winner for “Prima Facie.” She will next be seen in “The Bikeriders” and “28 Years Later.”
