Hugh Jackman hit the gym for an intense weightlifting session, and it’s all for a good claws — er, cause.

Six years after he last played the ripped, virtually indestructible Marvel superhero Wolverine in Logan — long thought to be his farewell to the character — Jackman is reprising his role for Deadpool 3, starring frenemy Ryan Reynolds. And that means getting back into superhero shape.

“LFG #becomingwolverineagain(again),” Jackman shared on his Instagram page Wednesday, using Internet shorthand for “Let’s f—ing go.”

And he most absolutely does “go.” In a video set to “Thunderstruck” by fellow Aussies AC/DC, a bearded Jackman showed how he gets Wolverine’s signature biceps (and triceps. And abs. And pecs.), deadlifting a stacked weight bar five times in a row.

And clearly the workouts are, well, working, as 55-year-old Jackman — clad in short black shorts and a navy blue tank top — bared well-toned arms and legs.

“GOAT,” raved his trainer Beth Lewis, who reshared Jackman's video on her Instagram page. “Nobody works harder than this one! The BEST and I am so proud ❤️”

The actor, who recently split from wife of 27 years, Deborra-lee Jackman,  had said in January that it would take him 6 months to get back into Wolverine shape, adding that he was fortunately fit from performing in Broadway's The Music Man.

“There's one thing that about eight shows a week being on Broadway singing and dancing, is I'm fit. So, I'm healthy. I have a good place to start,” he said.

However, as Jackman explained, “You can't rush it. I've learned that it takes time. So, we have six months from when I finish [Music Man] to when I start filming. And I'm not doing any other work…That's going to be my job for six months."

"And I'm really fit right now. And apologies, chickens. Run a mile. Start running now because I'm coming for you," said Jackman.

Jackman previously had said that while Wolverine would likely return to the screen — he wouldn't be the one wielding the infamous claws.

“Oh, Wolverine will be back. Someone’s going to buy him, I don’t know,” Jackman said in a November 2018  interview on Sunday Today with Willie Geist.

“Not you though,” Geist replied.

“No, but Ryan is relentless,” Jackman said of Reynolds, who ultimately did lure Jackman into reprising his role for Deadpool 3.

“He keeps coming back to me in all these ways, shapes and forms,” Jackman continued. “I just said, ‘You know, I just don’t think the world really wants to see Deadpool with Wolverine.’”

Reynolds and Jackman did actually appear together onscreen as Wolverine and Deadpool — in 2009's X-Men Origins: Wolverine, but that version of Deadpool was vastly different from Reynolds' wisecracking, raunchy reincarnation of the character in 2016's record-breaking Deadpool.

And now Jackman is back in Wolverine mode, largely due to the dynamic between the two characters in the comic books.

"When I keep thinking of me and Ryan, of Deadpool and Wolverine, which are classic comic-book rivals, there's also a dynamic that I've never really got to do before as Wolverine," Jackman said of the upcoming movie during an appearance on Who's Talking to Chris Wallace? in January.

"I just thought, 'This is gonna be fun. Something I've never done before. I can't wait.'"

Deadpool 3 is expected in theaters next July.
