Their joint statement exclusively revealed by People Magazine stated:

“We have been blessed to share almost 3 decades together as husband and wife in a wonderful, loving marriage. Our journey now is shifting and we have decided to separate to pursue our individual growth.”

The news of their separation surprised many, especially after Jackman posted a loving post on Instagram to celebrate their 27^th wedding anniversary on April 11, 2023.

Earlier in 2023, Deborra-Lee had listed their lavish Hamptons holiday home for rent (via Hello Magazine). Since the two spent six years renovating it into their dream house, listing it for rent could have indicated turbulence between the couple.

Signed “Deb and Hugh Jackman,” their official statement continued:

“Our family has been and always will be our highest priority. We undertake this next chapter with gratitude, love, and kindness. We greatly appreciate your understanding in respecting our privacy as our family navigates this transition in all of our lives. This is the sole statement either of us will make.”

The 54-year-old Les Miserables star is expected to continue his celebrated acting career individually, while the 67-year-old Aussie actress will take up other ventures.
