Hugh Jackman Celebrates Birthday Alongside Estranged Wife Deborra-lee Jackman at Swanky N.Y.C. Dinner

The actor turned 55 at a swanky dinner in the Big Apple that included his estranged wife

Hugh Jackman rang in his 55th birthday alongside estranged wife Deborra-lee Jackman.

On Friday, the actor shared Instagram photos of his 55th birthday celebration at Ralph Lauren’s Polo Bar in New York City, an upscale, celeb-favorite restaurant. A rep for the actor confirms Deborra-lee joined Hugh along with family and close friends.

“It was a great celebration," a source tells PEOPLE.

“Thank you ALL for the birthday love!!!” he captioned his post. “I’m reading your messages, seeing the special videos and experiencing all the feels. 🥹”

The Greatest Showman star also shared a glimpse of his birthday dessert. On his Instagram Story, he posted a snap of decadent-looking ice cream in a teacup. The plate it sat on read “Happy Birthday Hugh Jackman!” in chocolate sauce.

This marks Hugh's first birthday since he and Deb, 67, decided to amicably end their marriage.

Last month, the couple said in a statement exclusively shared with PEOPLE, "We have been blessed to share almost 3 decades together as husband and wife in a wonderful, loving marriage. Our journey now is shifting and we have decided to separate to pursue our individual growth."

"Our family has been and always will be our highest priority. We undertake this next chapter with gratitude, love, and kindness," they added. "We greatly appreciate your understanding in respecting our privacy as our family navigates this transition in all of our lives."

The Aussie pair, who share two kids — Oscar, 23, and Ava, 18 — have been married for 27 years.

On his actual birthday Thursday, Hugh marked another trip around the sun with a morning walk in New York City with friends Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively.

The trio was photographed strolling through the streets of the Big Apple in casual ensembles, with Hugh sporting an Under Armour tracksuit, sneakers, a navy hat and sunglasses.

That same morning, the Logan actor posted a throwback photo of his teenage self to Instagram. In the snap, the then-future actor wore a light-colored suit as he stood outside amid a grassy landscape, pulling a hilarious (and not-entirely-unlike-Wolverine!) face at the camera.

"I was the assistant (to the assistant) of the footy team. #throwbackthursday," Hugh recalled in the caption.

"You had the Wolverine in you before you became one," one fan wrote in the comments, referring to the actor's playful growling expression resembling his iconic X-Men character.
