Hugh Hefner’s Young Widow Crystal Harris ‘Won the Jackpot,’ Say Twitter Trolls

As many mourned Playboy founder Hugh Hefner, some social media users instead trolled his widow, Crystal Harris.

The publishing legend, who died Wednesday at 91, married the model and former Playmate of the Month on Dec. 31, 2012. He was 86 and she was 26.

The pair were first engaged in 2010, but Harris called the wedding off five days before she was due to walk down the aisle and was later dubbed “the Runaway Bride.”

Hefner’s son Cooper sent out a statement following his passing saying: “He will be greatly missed by many, including his wife Crystal, my sister Christie and my brothers David and Marston, and all of us at Playboy Enterprises.

However, a number of Twitter users thought of the fortune Hefner’s third wife might inherit, not her personal loss.

“It’s safe to say that Crystal Harris and her bank manager are the two happiest people on the planet at this moment in time,” one user wrote.

“Crystal Harris about to be rich AF,” another said.

However, despite Twitter users assuming that Harris will inherit Hefner’s millions, Us Weekly reported in 2013 that she has signed an ironclad prenup and that his fortune will go to his children, the University of Southern California film school and a number of charities.

There has so far been no official statement on Hefner’s will, burial details or memorial plans.
