What will Bridget Jones 4 be about?

Rom-com fans know that the Bridget Jones movies were adapted from the novels written by Helen Fielding (as well as a column she had composed for The Independent).

The first movie, Bridget Jones Diary, follows a young woman of the same name (played by Zellweger), and her rather peculiar love life... or initial lack-thereof. Whether the universe had suddenly taken her side or not is a mystery, but Bridget abruptly began to analyze not one, but two relationships forming in her life: one with Daniel Cleaver (played by Grant) and the other with Mark Darcy (played by Colin Firth).

Two more films were released since then: Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason (2004) and Bridget Jones’s Baby (2016).

Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy will follow the third book in Fielding's series, which sees Bridget as a woman and mother in her fifties, balancing all of the contemporary ways of life in this modern world.

Who's in the cast?

Along with Renée Zellweger who plays Bridget Jones, Emma Thompson as Dr Rawlings, and Hugh Grant as Daniel Cleaver, the returning cast members will also welcome come newcomers, Chiwetel Ejiofor, (famous for his roles in 12 Years a Slave and Rob Peace) and Leo Woodall, who most recently starred in the hit Netflix series, One Day.

When will Bridget Jones 4 be released?

Reports from Deadline indicate that you might have to wait a bit for the official release. Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy is said to premiere on February 14, 2025 on Peacock for those in the United States.
