The theater will measure 60,000 square feet and will have more than 1,000 seats in the building.

On Wednesday, Panama City Beach hosted a groundbreaking to kickstart construction of the Pirate Voyage Dinner & Show. The president and CEO of Cardella Construction, Frank Cardella, was enthused about starting the process.

"The most exciting project that we are working on," said Cardella. "The project (we're building) is highly complex. We are essentially building a football stadium surrounded by a building with a water stage at the center, so it's going to take a lot of precision."
