Monday night during the Semi-finals 2 episode of “America’s Got Talent: Fantasy League,” Australian singer Sheldon Riley from “AGT” Season 15 returned to the big stage with his rendition of “golden hour” by JVKE. While Mel B (his mentor), Heidi Klum and Simon Cowell gave him mostly positive comments, Howie Mandel received boos from the studio audience for his harsh criticism of Sheldon’s performance.

“You know, I’m just gonna say what I thought,” Howie declared when it was his turn to speak. “I think you’re one of the best singers we have heard on this show. But tonight, I thought that was way off. I found that way off.” As the crowd reacted negatively to Howie’s comments, he continued on, “Rather than hitting the notes, you were hitting volume, and you stayed in one little plane and it was just loud. I think you’re much better than that, I really do. I don’t think that was your best.”

As for the other “AGT” judges, Mel praised Sheldon for taking things “to the next level,” Heidi remarked on his “bold fashion” and “extra” personality, and Simon said he had a “great voice” and was “interesting,” though he conceded this wasn’t one of his “best nights.”

Sheldon responded by letting the viewers know about his various dreams in life. “I want to go to the Met Gala,” he began. “I want to be a recording artist. I want to perform all around the world. I want to do movie soundtracks. I want to do cool stuff.”

Previously on the 15th season of “America’s Got Talent,” Sheldon performed “idontwannabeyouanymore” and “Can’t Get You Out of My Head” while wearing a mask that covered his face, as he was uncomfortable about his appearance. During the “Fantasy League” Qualifiers, he belted out “Tattoo” and removed his mask mid-performance for the first time ever, thanks to some advice from Mel B.
