How Olivia Pope Was Arrested on 'Scandal'

Thursday’s episode of Scandal opened with Olivia Pope handcuffed in a cell as Fitz walked in and said, “Tell me it’s not true.” The show then flashed back to 48 hours earlier. While Olivia was vetting a potential location for his asylum status, Cyrus had the attorney general look into how Eli Pope escaped from prison and used that information to get closer to Fitz. Olivia was then arrested by the FBI and placed in a dark holding cell. Fitz went down to confront her about letting Eli, the man who killed his son, go free. As she started to explain, “Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow” by The Shirelles swelled, drowning out her words. Her justification for letting him go must have been extraordinary, though, because Fitz insisted that she be released. To top that, he had staffers gather all of her things and move them into the White House residence so she could live with him.
