How do you think the RCMP handled the B.C. fugitives case?
After a 14-day manhunt, B.C. homicide suspects Bryer Schmegelsky, 18, and Kam McLeod, 19, were finally located by the RCMP in Manitoba.
But there was no police confrontation with the suspects, as they weren’t found alive.
Officials announced yesterday that they located two male bodies, suspected to be those of the teen fugitives, about 8 km away from where a burnt vehicle was located last month, near the Nelson River in Manitoba.
The RCMP came across the bodies at 10 a.m. on Aug. 7 about a kilometre away from where police had found items belonging to the suspects on Aug. 2.
The two teens were charged with second-degree murder in the death of University of British Columbia lecturer Leonard Dyck. They were also suspects in the deaths of of Australian tourist Lucas Fowler and his American girlfriend, Chynna Deese.
Following the announcement that the bodies were found, many are commenting on the abilities of the RCMP.
While many are praising the RCMP for being relentless in their investigation:

All those resources and it took 2 weeks to find them 8 KM from the burnt vehicle??? Wow.... If your ever running from the police, stop and play dead in the vicinity of where they think you are ;) Glad this is put to rest though. Condolences to all the people affected.

Great job but only 8 km away from the burned out RAV4.. having military and so many resources /Canadians taxpayers money spent on this search and this was the actual result.. hope manitoba RCMP better utilizes resources next time. Lessons learned I HOPE .
