Houston Texans WR Jalen Camp honors John Metchie after preseason touchdown
Former Alabama Crimson Tide wide receiver, John Metchie III, was selected in the second round, No. 44 overall, in the 2022 NFL Draft by the Houston Texans. It was the perfect landing spot as Metchie would see valuable minutes as a rookie until he received some of the most devastating news of the offseason.
In July, Metchie announced he had been diagnosed with acute promyelocytic leukemia and would be missing the entirety of his rookie campaign. Although, this is much bigger than football.
This past Saturday, the Texans played their first preseason game of the year officially kicking off their 2022 campaign. Texans’ second-year receiver, Jalen Camp, made the gesture of the season by honoring Metchie after scoring a touchdown by striking Metchie’s famous Crimson Crane kick pose.
