Houston Texans evaluating all QB options at pick No. 2

As things currently stand, the Houston Texans have the No. 2 selection in the 2023 NFL draft behind the Carolina Panthers. The Panthers are reportedly most heavily interested in C.J. Stroud of the Ohio State Buckeyes and Bryce Young of the Alabama Crimson Tide, but nobody knows who the Texans really have their eyes on.

The issue for the Texans is that the Panthers might take their top QB choice at No. 1 overall, so Houston will need to do everything in their power to evaluate a multitude of prospects. Aside from Stroud and Young, the Texans are also doing their due diligence on Florida’s Anthony Richardson and Kentucky’s Will Levis.

It is remarkable for the SEC to have three of the top four quarterback options in the draft this year and speaks to just how tough the conference is. The Texans have a great left tackle in Laremy Tunsil as well as a lot of draft capital via the Deshaun Watson trade and a manageable division (AFC South). If Bryce ends up with the Texans, it will be one of the most desirable outcomes for the former Heisman Winner.
