New House Stark Sigil And Banner Revealed During 'Game Of Thrones' Prequel Filming

A new sigil and banner representing the House of Stark has been spotted on location as the "Game Of Thrones" prequel continues filming.

Fishing For Details

It looks as if the Stark family crest will just be an older version of the sigil.

Other pictures posted online also reveal ancient-looking boats out on the water, near Gaeta, Italy.

Martin seems to be hinting that the prequel could be titled "The Longest Night," but HBO is mum on that.

More White Walkers On the Horizon

Starks, which are defendants of the First Men and other things -- like the White Walkers -- will be in this new universe too.

According to Martin:

“Obviously the White Walkers are here — or as they’re called in my books, The Others — and that will be an aspect of it. There are things like direwolves and mammoths.”

So Many Kingdoms

There have been other details revealed about this new "Game of Thrones" prequel series.

For one thing, author George R.R. Martin explained that the number of kingdoms will expand exponentially:

“We talk about the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros; there were Seven Kingdoms at the time of Aegon’s Conquest."

“But if you go back further then there are nine kingdoms, and 12 kingdoms, and eventually you get back to where there are a hundred kingdoms — petty kingdoms — and that’s the era we’re talking about here.”

Time To Move On

Members of the Game of Thrones cast got together at the recent San Diego Comic-Con for a Q and A and addressed the backlash about Season 8.

“It was a surprising level… the absurdity of the online petition,” said Nikolaj Coster-Waldau.

Hopefully these new prequel sightings will calm that storm.
