‘Hotel Mumbai’ Trailer: Harrowing Story Of The 2008 Terrorist Attack On Taj Hotel

It’s been a circuitious road to theaters for Hotel Mumbai, but now we have the first trailer for the film about the 2008 terrorist attack in India’s largest city. Check it out above.

Dev Patel, Armie Hammer, Nazanin Boniadi, Tilda Cobham-Hervey, Anupam Kher, and Jason Isaacs star in the film from director Anthony Maras, who co-wrote it with John Collee. It recounts the true story of the siege of the famed Taj Hotel by a group of terrorists in Mumbai a decade ago. Among the dedicated hotel staff is the renowned chef Hemant Oberoi (Kher) and a waiter (Patel), who choose to risk their lives to protect their guests. As the world watches oin live TV, a desperate couple (Hammer, Boniadi) is forced to make unthinkable sacrifices to protect their newborn child.

Hotel Mumbai was among the movies caught up the Weinstein Company debacle following multiple accusations of sexual assault against Harvey Weinstein. After its producers went after TWC, the sides settled in June. Bleecker Street and ShivHans Pictures co-acquired domestic rights to the film ahead of its world premiere at Toronto last year.

Produced by Basil Iwanyk, Gary Hamilton, Mike Gabrawy, Julie Ryan, Andrew Ogilvie and Jomon Thomas, the film now will open March 22. Have a look at the trailer above and poster below, and tell us what you think.
