NICU babies at a Texas hospital are precious in a Star Wars-themed photo shoot for the holidays.

As seen in a Facebook video posted by Baylor Scott & White McLane Children's Medical Center – Temple, employees carefully dressed ten of their babies in handmade costumes to resemble Baby Yoda from the Disney+ series The Mandalorian, Chewbacca, Hans Solo, Princess Leia, R2-D2, the Storm Troopers, and more.

A hospital employee tells Yahoo Lifestyle, “We often call our patients warriors, especially the families of NICU babies. Their strength, courage, and resilience reminded us of the stories that are chronicled throughout the Star Wars series. It can be long, and at times challenging, but it’s worth it. For us, what better way to honor them by bringing something fun and uplifting during their journey through the NICU. It was also a joy for the hospital staff to take part in, especially because they are fighting just as hard every day to take care of these Little Warriors and their families. It was fun for everyone who participated!”

“In a hospital far, far, away...” reads the text from a clever video posted by the hospital, showing an employee fitting baby Hayes with a Yoda hat. Photos then illustrated little Lucas, described on the hospital website as “the chosen one” and a girl named Marley, a “princess” who is “just as tough as she is cute.”

According to the hospital, the costumes were designed by Lynaia Herrnberger of Washington, the owner of the Etsy shop LoveableCrochet254. Herrnberger tells Yahoo Lifestyle that in November, she also created the viral “Frozen” outfits for babies at Saint Luke’s South Hospital in Kansas.

Also, in October, a nurse at the UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital in Pittsburgh created Baby Yoda-inspired hats for the newborns, after going viral for crocheting pint-sized shoes and cardigans to resemble Mr. Rogers for World Kindness Day.
