‘Horse Soldiers’ Recruits Austin Hébert; ‘Papillon’ Remake Adds Nina Senicar

Austin Hébert is set to join Michael Pena, Chris Hemsworth and Michael Shannon in Nicolai Fuglsig’s upcoming Lionsgate release Horse Soldiers. Based on Doug Stanton’s nonfiction book adapted by Peter Craig and Ted Tally, the pic is about a U.S. Special Forces Team and their untested captain sent to a rugged region of Afghanistan in the weeks after 9/11. Hébert will play SFC Pat Essex, the intellectual and engineer of the group. Jerry Bruckheimer, Molly Smith, Thad Luckinbill and Trent Luckinbill serve as producers on the film. Hébert recently showed up on the big screen in the Tom Cruise-starrer Jack Reacher 2, and is currently shooting Burden alongside Garrett Hedlund. He just wrapped a couple of projects; Above Suspicion for Philip Noyce and Untitled Detroit Project for Kathryn Bigelow. He is repped by Abrams Artists Agency.

Serbia-born actress Nina Senicar has joined Charlie Hunnam and Rami Malek in the Michael Noer-directed Papillon, a remake to the 1973 film that starred Steve McQueen and Dustin Hoffman. Written by Aaron Guzikowski, the pic is based on the memoirs of convicted felon and fugitive Henri Charriere, a petty criminal who was unjustly convicted of murder and staged an epic escape from Devil’s Island. Joey McFarland, Riza Aziz, David Koplan, Ram Bergman and Roger Corbi are producing. Senicar also recently joined Jeremy Runner, James Franco, Alec Baldwin and Heidi Klum in the animation movie Arctic Justice:Thunder Squad as voice of Countdown Inka. She is repped by Pantheon Talent.
