Hornets' Miles Bridges Accused of Throwing Billiard Balls at Ex-Girlfriend's Car in Front of Their Children

The Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Office issued a criminal summons for the NBA player on Wednesday, the Athletic reported

Charlotte Hornets' Miles Bridges has been accused of throwing billiard balls at his ex-girlfriend's car in new criminal summons that were issued for the NBA player.

Bridges, 25, allegedly threw the balls at the car with their children present during a custody exchange, according to records from the Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Office, obtained by the Athletic on Wednesday.

According to the outlet's report, the billiard balls shattered his ex's windshield and left dents in the vehicle. Bridges is also accused of threatening to “take everything from her and withhold child support” if she called the police.

The alleged incident comes shortly before the start of the 2023-24 NBA season on Oct. 24. Bridges is scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 13.

The Charlotte Hornets have since addressed the new summons and said, “We are aware of the reports and are in the process of gathering more information,” in a statement to The Athletic.

Representatives for Bridges and the Hornets did not immediately respond to PEOPLE's requests for comment.

Bridges previously served a 30-game suspension from the NBA after he was charged with three felonies following his June 29 arrest in Los Angeles.

Among the felonies was one count of injuring a child's parent and two felony counts of child abuse "under circumstances or conditions likely to cause great bodily injury or death," according to a statement from the Los Angeles County District Attorney's office.

According to the D.A.'s office, Bridges's ex-girlfriend was the victim of the alleged assault, which happened in front of their two children "on or about June 27 and 28."

Bridges' former partner, Mychelle Johnson, posted since-deleted pictures of injuries along with a statement on Instagram July 1, according to ESPN and other outlets.

Johnson did not identify Bridges but described the injuries as "assault by strangulation; brain concussion; closed fracture of nasal bone; contusion of rib; multiple bruises; strain of neck muscle."

"I hate that it has come to this but I can't be silent anymore," the post read. "I've allowed someone to destroy my home, abuse me in every way possible and traumatize our kids for life. I have nothing to prove to the world, but I won't allow anyone who could do something so horrible to have no remorse and paint a picture of something I'm not. I won't allow the people around him to continue to silence me and continue to lie to protect this person."
