Hoots Wings by Hooters opens 2 metro Detroit locations

Hooters of America has opened its new-ish chicken wing concept in two downriver communities.

Hoots Wings by Hooters is a spinoff of the Hooters restaurant chain that started franchising in December 2020.   The newest location opened at 1327 Dix Rd. in Lincoln Park. A Southgate location at 15067 Eureka Rd. opened in May and was the first in Michigan. Other Hoots Wings are in California, Georgia and Dubai, according to the Hoots Wings website.

On the menu are varieties of Hooters famous chicken wings, including original breaded wings, boneless wings, roasted wings and smoked wings, according to its online menu. There are also chicken tenders, chicken sandwiches, Buffalo shrimp and funnel fries.  Hoots Wings has dine-in, carry-out and delivery available.

A 10-piece original wing combo includes a choice of curly fries, waffle fries or tots, celery, carrots or carrots and celery, a side and a 20-ounce drink for $15.49 according to its online menu. For $1 more, you can get all drums or all flats.

While you'll find Hooters famous chicken wings here on the menu, the locations are minus the bar and "Hooters Girls" sporting short orange shorts and low-cut tops.

Hooters of America is a long-standing restaurant chain that got its start 40 years ago in Clearwater, Florida. The chain continues to operate more than 400 Hooters restaurants in 38 states and 24 countries. In Michigan, there are Hooters locations in Flint, Saginaw and Taylor, according to Hooters.com.
