Homeland Season 6 Trailer Goes Nuclear, Offers First 'Look' at Quinn

Homeland‘s full-length Season 6 trailer almost made it through its three-minute running time without addressing the elephant in the room. We said almost.

In the final seconds of the above teaser, Carrie is heard saying, “Quinn?” And then the screen fades to black and we hear Rupert Friend’s death-defying sniper ask, “What happened to me?”

The NYC-set Season 6 debuts Sunday, January 15 at 9/8c and focuses on the aftermath of a U.S. presidential election and the transition between election day and the inauguration for a president-elect (played by House of Cards‘ Elizabeth Marvel). Carrie (Claire Danes) — now residing in Brooklyn with Frannie — has begun working at a foundation which provides aid to Muslims living in the U.S. The action picks up “several months” after the events of Season 5.

Other key takeaways of the official trailer:

* Saul gets kidnapped again and F. Murray Abraham’s Dar appears complicit.
* Nuclear weapons apparently play a significant role.
* A pundit describes the political drama surrounding the incoming president as “the most difficult transfer of power in history.” Kinda eerie, huh?
