The California home where brothers Joseph Lyle Menéndez and Erik Galen Menéndez murdered their parents has found a buyer.

The 9,063-square-foot seven-bedroom Mediterranean-style estate closed on Wednesday at a price of $17 million, according to its listing held by Amy Vertun of Rodeo Realty.

Wednesday marked 28 years to the day that the brothers were convicted for the Aug. 20, 1989 murder of Jose and Mary Louise “Kitty” Menéndez.

The home initially hit the market at $19,999,500 in December 2023. Its seller, telecommunications executive Sam Delug, purchased the home in 2001 for $3.7 million, per Realtor.com.

Strategic Property Analytic President Orell Anderson told the real estate listing website that he estimates the price that the Beverly Hills home sold at "is roughly 25% below prevailing market values."

"It really is the bad voodoo that comes in when buying a house to live in with your family, that can creep out people. There tends to almost always be a discount, but sometimes it’s purchased by people who are not bothered by these things," Anderson said.

The Menéndez brothers have returned to the spotlight after Netflix announced that it will profile them for the second installment of its Monster series expected to premiere in 2024.

The streamer announced last May that the upcoming series would officially be titled Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menéndez Story.

"During their trials, the brothers cited years of abuse as the reason for murdering their parents. However, prosecutors argued that their motive was to get their hands on the family fortune," a synopsis for the series reads.

Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story will feature Nicholas Alexander Chavez and Cooper Koch as Lyle and Erik, respectively. Javier Bardem and Chloë Sevigny have signed on to play their parents.
