Oct. 11—If you've got a tiger by the tail, you better take it down to the Fairfax Grange on Friday and put on some dancing shoes for the latest Rancho Round-Up show.

The Soda Crackers return to the historic local venue with arguably the best dance floor in town for an evening of dancing, twangin' country music and lots of fun.

Friday's show comes on the heels of a well-attended debut evening at the Grange for the band in May.

"Our first Rancho show was a huge success and a great way to showcase the beautiful Grange Hall," Zane Adamo, the band's rhythm guitarist, lead vocalist and fiddler, said in a news release. "I knew we had to put on another show (there) before the end of the year. If you're a dancer, wanting to learn how to dance, or love traditional country and western music, this is the place to be!"

No dance experience — or partner — is required for attendees who want to hit the floor. Before the band goes on at 7:30 p.m., a free swing dance lesson will be held at 6:30 p.m.

Known for providing the "full Bakersfield Sound with a nice helping of Western Swing thrown in as a side dish of sorts," the band includes Adamo and his brother Cooper on fiddle, pedal steel guitarist Nick Green, Jesus "Chuy" Holguin on stand-up bass and lead guitarist Ramon Espinosa.

Expect a set list with some classic dance music from Bob Wills, Johnny Horton, Faron Young, Billy Mize as well as Buck Owens and Merle Haggard. The band will also perform a couple of originals including "Two-Step Solution."

"Nothing makes us happier than to watch people move around tables and chairs and make space for dancing — that's what this music is meant for," Adamo said in the release.

Southern Californian traditional rockabilly trio The Centuries will close out the night with a set at 9 p.m.

Doors open at 6 p.m. Friday for the Rancho Round-Up at the Fairfax Grange No. 570, 4 Fairfax Road.

The dance lesson runs from 6:30 to 7:15 p.m., followed by the show from 7:30 to 10 p.m.

Admission is $10, $5 for children age 12 and Younger. Tickets are available at eventbrite.com. Advance purchase is recommended although some tickets may be available at the door.

Snacks and drinks will also be available for purchase.
