Hollywood Reacts To Obama DNC Speech With Praise, Jokes & Nostalgia
Refresh for updates… The entertainment industry didn’t wait for the end to begin reacting to President Obama’s much-touted and even more anticipated address tonight at the Democratic National Convention. Ditto pundits, comedians and the like who weighed in to mainly offer praise for the speech. A surprising – though not that much – reaction was nostalgia with among others Shonda Rhimes, Ava DuVernay and Patton Oswalt outright saying they’re going to miss Obama. There were plenty of jokes too, for instance Oswalt, again, who took a dig at Donald Trump, and satire site The Onion which commented on Obama’s soon-to-be statesman status. They were soon joined by just about everyone, including First Lady Michelle Obama, with the consensus seeming to be that it was one of Obama’s best speeches. Here’s some social media reactions – Deadline will update as more arrive.
That's my man! Your truth, dignity and grace reminds us what real leadership looks like. I am always proud of our @POTUS. -mo

Obama should record Waze directions after he leaves office. His routes would be firm but fair. You'd get through wrong turns together.
