Hollywood reacts to Burt Reynolds' death at 82

Famous faces around the world today are sharing their memories of the late Burt Reynolds, whose Hollywood career spanned a remarkable five decades before his death on Thursday at the age of 82.

"I met Burt Reynolds once in a video store in the 90s before he did 'Boogie Nights.' He was by himself and no one seemed to notice him," recalled singer Richard Marx. "I said, 'I just want to thank you for many hours of entertainment.' He smiled so big and shook my hand and said, 'You made my day. Thank you.'”

Mark Wahlberg, who co-starred with Reynolds in "Boogie Nights," put it simply: "Rest in peace to a legend and a friend."

"He was a trailblazer. He showed the way to transition from being an athlete to being the highest paid actor, and he always inspired me," mused Arnold Schwarzenegger, adding, "He also had a great sense of humor -- check out his 'Tonight Show' clips. My thoughts are with his family."

Billy Baldwin worked with Reynolds while the two did commercial voiceover work years ago. "Very, very funny guy," he wrote.

Reynolds passed away of cardiac arrest in Florida on Thursday.
