As previously announced, the purpose is to “raise money for emergency financial relief for the entire community of artists, craftspeople, technicians, production assistants and support staff facing financial difficulty due to the strikes.”

The event is being produced by Marta Kauffman, Paul McCrane, Robbie Rowe Tollin, Jesse Schiller, Paul Scheer, Tony Phelan, Tara Miele and Kate Wagener in association with the Union Solidarity Coalition. TUSC was founded by a group of writer-directors who were moved to support their crews affected by this year’s WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes. The organization launched with a focus to offer direct financial support to crew members who have lost health insurance due to strike-related production shutdowns.

In a joint statement, the organizers of the fundraiser praised crew members as “the backbone” of production” and members of “work families.” The statement continued, “Regardless of when work resumes, this will be a difficult year for union crews and their families and proceeds raised from ‘The Give-Backular Spectacular’ will be used to alleviate some of that hardship.”

Tickets are now available with the code “Solidarity.”
