Get in the holiday spirit with a fall craft, tree lighting or parade
Christmas in Caldwell looks more and more like a Hallmark movie every year. Join in the festivities this year as they kick off the season with the Christmas tree lighting. Scheduled to take place Wednesday at 6 p.m., the tree, located on the courthouse square, will be decorated to the hilt. Haney's Kettle Corn will be on-site with everyone's favorite popped treat. Stick around to visit the ice skating rink which will open for the season following the lighting. Horse drawn carriage rides will be available and the Noble County Historic Jail and Museum will be offering tours from 5 to 7 p.m. For more information visit the Village Christmas to Remember website. Craft workshop at winery
Fall isn't quite over yet, despite Christmas being everywhere. Head to the Killing Tree Winery in Dresden to create a one-of-a-kind dried flower pumpkin. This guided class will be taking place Thursday at 6 p.m. and is expected to last an hour and a half. The cost of the workshop is $30 per person, which includes all required supplies and a glass or flight of Wine from Killing Tree Winery. For more information and visit rustdecorshop.com. Cambridge Christmas parade
Head to downtown Cambridge for the annual Christmas parade. Keeping the spirit of the season alive, this year's theme is Christmas in Toyland. Join Guernsey County residents and visitors alike as floats, characters, and entertainment make their way up Wheeling Avenue. The parade is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 25. Neal McCoy performing in Zanesville
Country singer Neal McCoy will perform Dec. 15, at Secrest Auditorium, 334 Shinnick St. in Zanesville. Tickets are available at secrestauditorium.com.
This is not his first concert in Zanesville. He previously performed at Secrest in April 2014.
McCoy has released 15 studio albums. In 1993, he broke through with back-to-back number one singles "No Doubt About It" and "Wink" from his platinum-certified album "No Doubt About It."
His commercial success continued into the late 1990s with two more platinum albums and a gold album, as well as six more top 10 hits. A seventh top 10 hit, "Billy's Got His Beer Goggles On," came in 2005 from his self-released "That's Life." A new studio album, "XII," arrived in 2012, co-produced by Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert.
Local bluegrass show
The Pennyroyal Opera House will host a bluegrass show on Friday featuring the Larry Stephenson Band. According to a release from the Pennyropyal, "Highly regarded, as one of Bluegrass music’s most recognizable and finest high lead and tenor vocalists, Larry Stephenson has been headlining festivals and concerts for 30 years. He formed The Larry Stephenson Band in 1989 while living in his home state of Virginia." The opening band for the evening will be Alum Creek. The kitchen and doors open at 5 p.m. with the show scheduled to start at 7 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at the door and are $20. Admission is free for those 12 and under.
