Holiday Pops concert returns to Broyhill Center

Nov. 27—The sights and sounds of the holiday season will come alive with the annual holiday pops concert that will return to Lenoir Friday evening.

The Western Piedmont Symphony will present the annual Foothills Pops: Holiday Spectacular concert that will feature music of the holiday season, starting at 7:30 p.m. at the J.E. Broyhill Civic Center, at 1913 Hickory Blvd in Lenoir.

Led by Maestro Matthew Troy, the Western Piedmont Symphony will perform classic Christmas songs, seasonal movie music, and an electrifying array of family-favorite holiday hits, along with featured guest artists soprano Julia Woodward, tenor Jonathan Kaufman, and electric guitarist Matt Sickels.

Tickets to the Foothills Pops: Holiday Spectacular concert are $30, $40 and $50 for adults and $10 for students for anyone who is 17 years of age or younger, with a student identification.

A family holiday four-pack of tickets that includes two adults and two children is $90, an valid only for Section B seats.

The annual holiday concert is being sponsored by the Broyhill Family Foundation, the Bernhardt Furniture Foundation, Imagine One Hospitality and U.S. Conec, along with support from the United Arts Council of Catawba County and the North Carolina Arts Council.

The Western Piedmont Symphony is the professional orchestra of the western foothills of North Carolina.

Western Piedmont Symphony's 2023-24 season, "Music for You," expresses human stories and connections evident in each of the works or composers represented. The 59th season continues in 2024 with a Crossroads Concert with the Ariel Pocock and Chad Eby Jazz Duo on Jan. 18, and Masterworks: Carmina Burana featuring 150 singers in one of the 20th century's most spellbinding and immersive classical music experiences on Feb. 9.
